Patient Resources
Preparation guides, what to expect during treatment, and answers to the questions patients ask most. No surprises — just clarity.
The Treatment Journey
Eat a light meal 1–2 hours before your appointment — avoid arriving on an empty stomach or immediately after a heavy meal.
Wear or bring loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your arms, legs, and abdomen.
Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and strenuous exercise for at least 2 hours before treatment.
Complete your intake forms in advance if provided — this allows more time for treatment.
Bring a list of any current medications, supplements, and recent lab work or imaging.
Your first visit includes a comprehensive intake: health history, current complaints, and TCM diagnostic assessment (pulse and tongue diagnosis).
Needle insertion is generally painless — most patients feel a mild sensation of pressure, warmth, or a brief dull ache at the point, which quickly subsides.
You will rest with needles in place for 20–40 minutes. Most patients find this deeply relaxing.
Additional modalities (cupping, moxa, E-stim) may be incorporated based on your treatment plan.
Communicate openly — let your practitioner know if anything feels uncomfortable.
Drink plenty of water to support the body's natural detoxification response.
Rest if possible — avoid strenuous exercise for the remainder of the day.
Some patients experience mild fatigue or emotional release after treatment; this is normal and typically resolves within 24 hours.
Avoid alcohol and heavy meals for several hours post-treatment.
Note any changes in your symptoms, sleep, energy, or mood to report at your next visit.
