Adjunct Therapy · Modality 08
An ancient healing technique refined for contemporary medicine. Cupping utilizes vacuum force to stimulate circulation, trigger bone marrow activity, and accelerate deep tissue recovery — integrated within Vita's full regenerative care model.
What Is Cupping Therapy
Cupping therapy is a therapeutic technique that utilizes a vacuum force created beneath a small vessel applied onto the skin's surface. This ancient healing technique has found its way into contemporary medicine, with growing clinical evidence supporting its mechanisms at the cellular and hematological level.
At Vita Acupuncture Clinic, Cupping is applied as part of an integrated treatment protocol — used alongside Acupuncture, Meridian Therapy, and other modalities to address pain management, musculoskeletal disorders, and systemic recovery goals.
Cupping therapy intentionally creates petechiae to stimulate circulation — a response associated with increased microcirculation and tissue perfusion in targeted areas, while encouraging blood flow in regions of stagnation for enhanced recovery.

Hematological Mechanisms
01
The controlled blood extraction during wet Cupping serves as a direct stimulus to the bone marrow. The body senses the slight drop in blood volume and triggers the production of new erythrocytes and leukocytes.
02
Recent clinical research published in Heliyon / ScienceDirect demonstrates that participants evaluated four weeks after wet Cupping sessions showed significant increases in overall venous RBC counts, hemoglobin levels, and packed cell volume (PCV).
03
In dry Cupping, suction intentionally ruptures tiny capillaries, creating localized bruising (ecchymosis). Immune cells called macrophages migrate to the area to break down escaped red blood cells, metabolizing the heme into protective compounds like Heme Oxygenase-1 (HO-1), iron, and bilirubin.
04
The filtering mechanism of wet Cupping draws out older, highly viscous blood concentrated with waste products. Removing this dense fluid lowers systemic blood viscosity and enhances microcirculation, allowing newly formed red blood cells to travel more efficiently through tissues.
Integrated Care
Cupping is rarely used in isolation at Vita. It is prescribed as part of a comprehensive protocol — combined with Acupuncture, Meridian Therapy, Red Light Therapy, or HBOT depending on your clinical presentation and recovery goals.
Your Practitioner will determine whether Cupping is appropriate for your condition and how it fits within your individualized treatment plan.
Acupuncture
Meridian-based needle therapy to regulate Qi flow and address root pattern imbalances
Red Light Therapy
Photobiomodulation to accelerate tissue healing and reduce inflammation post-Cupping
HBOT
Hyperbaric oxygen delivery to enhance cellular repair and support systemic recovery
Meridian Therapy
Comprehensive mapping and treatment of the body's energetic pathways alongside Cupping
